Victory Garden of Tomorrow - Video Bio
This past fall, I was commissioned by Joe Wirtheim of Victory Garden of Tomorrow to also create a short bio video to accompany the information on his website. Given the fact that we both were in Korea and not the US, it made for some interesting workarounds in the production. Despite the challenges, I think it turned out rather nicely.
In his vintage propaganda style, Joe addresses the need for sustainable and healthy farming practices by designing products that inspire and give a call to action for a better tomorrow. Enjoy the video below!

Fall Colors - Byeonsan-bando National Park, South Korea
Sacha and I went out for a mini-vacation this past weekend to Byeonsan-bando National Park. This is the walk up to the Naesosa Buddhist temple at the foot of one of the mountains. With the colors at their peak and a nice mist moving in from the coast, I don't think we could have timed our trip better!
Campus Couples - Jeonju, South Korea
A shot from the start of my "campus couples" project. The campus couple is a uniquely Korean trend among young people. After about a month or so of dating, the guy will typically give his girlfriend something matching for them to wear on their dates. The longer they date, the more they match.

Photo from a recent product/lifestyle commercial shoot for a new line of t-shirts, shot at the Nambu Market in Jeonju. Commissioned by the great Joe Wirtheim of Victory Garden of Tomorrow. Really great stuff here, be sure to check out his wares!

Everyday Korea
As I'm nearing the end of a soft-relaunch of my website, thought I'd update with another new gallery. For those of you who have been wondering what I've been up to during my year-long stint in Korea, these photos will give you a little bit of an idea. We'll elaborate with stories on our personal blog too, but that's for later on...
Most of the photos were shot with my new Fuji X100s, a most generous wedding anniversary gift from my beloved wife. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite cameras to shoot. Seriously, if you're considering one, you won't regret it one bit.
Go on, take a look at the photos here!
2013 Boryeong Mud Festival
A few weeks ago my wife and I headed to the city of Boryeong, South Korea for it's internationally renown mud festival, an event celebrating the fine qualities of the local mud (clay). Needless to say, it was a bit different than some of the more tame festivals we've attended while in Korea. We arrived to a largely foreign crowd (ie: not Koreans) who were partying like they never left Cancun that one fateful summer. I'll spare my thoughts on representing your home country with dignity while overseas, but as a whole, it really was a blast and I had the chance to meet and photograph some really great people. You can find the gallery by clicking here.
Here's a few photos for the highlight reel:
Joe Wirtheim
As an effort to build my portfolio up with more portraits, I've been taking portraits of friends and acquaintances in my down time in Jeonju. I had been planning on taking an environmental portrait of Joe, owner and artist at Victory Gardens of Tomorrow. His work advocates for sustainable farming practices, such as urban gardening and locally grown produce. I got a fire put under my butt to get a shot sooner rather than later when he approached me about commissioning a piece to appear on the blog TheHorticult.com, as his work is being featured in an upcoming article. We found an urban garden in Jeonju (they're EVERYWHERE) and set to work. Here's some of the finals - enjoy!
